KENN
MACDONALD
Kenn founded Openbox with his friend Carol over 20 years ago! Both seeing that there was an opening in schools for Openbox’s unique teaching style. From the beginning of the company both wanted to encourage children to use their imagination whilst learning.
Kenn was born in the small fishing town of Wick in the Highlands of Scotland. He trained in Theatre at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
With over 40 years experience in Professional Theatre and the Arts, Kenn has had a long and varied career. He toured the United Kingdom extensively in various shows as a performer before working on the Stage Management Teams in the West End where his theatre credits include “Copacabana”, “Whistle Down the Wind”, “Phantom of the Opera” and “Disney’s Beauty & the Beast”. Kenn was the original Deputy Stage Manager for the worldwide phenomenon “Mamma Mia!”. As well as Openbox, Kenn is a successful and busy LAMDA teacher.

CAROL
TUBBS
Carol is the other Openbox Director. She was a successful teacher for many years. She taught reception through to year 6. Her love of music and drama combined with her extensive knowledge of the National Curriculum has proved a winning formula; effectively motivating children to learn through drama, role play and storytelling. The Openbox Theatre Company is a natural extension to her role as teacher; a creative partnership which definitely puts the fun back into learning!

GINETTE POPE
Ginette is our Openbox Administrator and she joined the team in January 2022 . Ginette is in charge of running the Openbox office. She is the person to contact should you have any questions or would like to make a booking. Fun fact: Ginette is actually a qualified secondary school Science teacher!

Our inclusive and energetic drama workshops are designed to stimulate and encourage; unleashing children's imagination to turn facts into fun - leading to tangible results in the classroom.
We aim to build positive and rewarding relationships with schools, so whether you are looking to launch a new topic or consolidate learning, our original curriculum focused drama workshops will turn learning into a lifelong adventure for your pupils!
